Wii sports and games of the sort honestly suck due to their lack of replayability. The appeal lasts for maybe a few weeks, you show it off to your friends have some laughs then what? Yeah you go back to playing Halo on your 360 or putting in Uncharted and having some better fun with your friends instead. The ps3 attempt at making the motion control is not at all an attempt to make this 'social gaming experience' you stated, its an attempt to appeal to the casual crowd, hence the casual like games coming with it.
Besides since when did Wii sports become a 10-15 million seller that sold 10 million Wii's. More like the 10 million Wii's sold the 10-15 million Wii sports as its bundled.
