Given that Brazil's economy has progressed by leaps & bounds for the past few years, and shows no sign of slowing down, I think Rio is a great destination. Brazil is blessed with a fantastic country. Yes, they need to make a lot of changes to improve the city, but I think that the influx of responsibility will do more harm than good.
And let's face it: Where else in South America would you want the olympics? Caracas? Lima? Buenos Aries?
