VG companies the big ones will stay (Square Enix, Capcom, Namco, Activision, EA, Ubisoft) for obvious reasons, but smaller ones are on the way out. Also it wasn't easily due to the economy, they were red for awhile most companies that are closed now. The economy only recently started effectiving games recently and that may because of other reasons.

Actually, thanks to digital distrubution models such as Steam,Gamersgate and Impulse as well as things like Xbox Live arcade and Wiiware we're seeing a lot of indie developers like 2DBoy flourish. Also, small publishers like Paradox Interactive are just chugging along nicely delivering quirky titles for PCs.

I actually meant the smaller developers as in not indie developers such as Midway, THQ (once they lose WWE), maybe even Take2 (which isn't small).  Also these companies might simply be bought out like Eidos. Also I know THQ might seem big but I consider them somewhat a smaller developer than the companies I mentioned before.

Anyways I'm out for six hours or so.

I see your point with Midway and THQ but....Take Two..small?
