Now, the announcement was a video of the chip raytracing a game. No dates or anything, just architecture details. That still fits with the low yield rumour, since they can conjure one working chip even if so many others are defective that they couldn't launch economically.

Interestingly, Anandtech's piece on this says that they [paraphrasing] 'just got silicon back' and that 'it could be in a few months if things go well, and Q1 2010 if they don't'. Which fits with Charlie's timeframe for tape-out, first silicon back and them about to make the go/no-go decision on launching.

If they launch this year I stand corrected.
