I used to do that as a kid, on planes. Never liked anything else they served there.
Back then they used to serve butter though, a nicely wrapped block like a mini version of what you get in shops, now they serve something poured in plastic that is too soft to be butter :/
I still go for butter nowadays, actually I think the only times I've eaten margarine in my life have been when eating out.
