Soriku stop repeating yourself! We read it the first time!

I got the 60GB PS3 with: Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, 2 sixaxis controllers, Babel and Spiderman 3 on Blu ray for £349.99. I could have got the 40GB PS3 on its own for £299.99. But for the extra £50 it is more than worth it. I think this is the reason for the 90-10 split on 60GB-40GB PS3's. Not BC.

I am predicting 1.3-1.5M sales for the PS3 in Europe for the rest of the year.

Here is what is actually happening in my town (average sales of PS3 in biggest store, pretty maching total sale curves in entire country):

June/July : 3-5 60G per week

Summer: 4-6 60G Starter packs per week:

mid-August/mid-September: 5-7 Starter packs per week

mid-September/mid-October: 10-14 Starter packs (reduced price), 2-4 40G units (plain box)

mid-October/now: 3-5 Starter packs, 15-18 40G packs

The 40G packs include Fifa football and the JB blue-ray, making it the better deal than the starter pack (which is still readily available).

So PS3 sales have considerably increased in Switzerland (beating Wii slightly and largely Xbox360 as is also recorded by Mediacontrol). Although Switzerland is small-scale unitwise, I seriously doubt the numbers ioi gives for Europe, I do not think that Switzerland is radically different from other countries, despite the "Spain is PS3, UK is XBox territory" mantra which seems to influence the statistics here.

From what I've seen, there haven't been any big discrepancies between vgchartz's PS3 numbers and news reports about shipments, chart-track reports etc. (EDIT - HappySqurriel beat me to it on this part)

Are you seriously suggesting that you can tell European sales from anedoctal evidence of a single town in Switzerland? There are quite radical differences between each of the consoles' performances in the different countries.
