Well, to answer everyone's question, specifically Khutra's, I do like those kind of theme historically, however, coming from a video game, its meh..

Out of curiosity, how many games have you played with those themes, exactly?

I actually have never played a game like that, but IMHO, it doesn't seem interesting. I want a story in which the character develops. A game that has historical theme, but mixes it with its own flare. Personally, if a game doesn't have that, then the story is boring and most likely be a let down. Sorry for the misleading statement, what I meant to say was that I don't expect it from a game. There are a few games that use the empire rise and fall type story (I forget at the moment). Honestly, its never worked because, they are either to predictable or he characters aren't interesting enough.

Now let me ask you the question. From many statements from the board, the game uses a historic theme. Do the characters develop? Is the story adding its own flare? More importantly, is gameplay good?

Yes, the characters develop - more genuinely and better than any other game in the series. The story has its own flare, and it is again the best in the series.

The gameplay is whatevr you want it to be. You can work with Gambits or you can input all commands manually, just like in every other FF. Your choice.

And for the record, you can't pass judgment on a mode of storytelling in a medium where you have not experienced it. That doesn't make sense.

I guess I'll give the game a try, thanks.
