Makes a lot of sense. It was to be expected.

Why would they waste time (and money) when so many buyers will buy it without questions?

Why does it make a lot of sense and why was it to be expected?

The main reason to have a beta would be to make sure they have a high quality game.  Without beta testing their could be a lot of bugs that turn people away from playing the game or purchasing it (like those ass's that crawl under the map and shoot you that you cannot see).  Without a good beta there will more than likely be a very large amount of these things happening early on.  And a good beta would have already had a majority of these things taken care of.

Their is a reason that so many people will purchase it without question and that is because the other IW COD games were amazingly high quality.  And this is due in some part to beta testing.

Isn't that my point? People will buy those games because of the strong brandname and the perseved quality. So why do a external beta or demo?

They do have a large group of internal betatesters. For a fps-minnded company that's a given. They can always patch later on - if even needed.
