IMO, having a real, valid, persistant MMOFPS would be absolutely revolutionary. Imagine: Playing a Call of Duty-like game, set throughout Europe and Japan, with hundreds of thousands of human and AI-controlled people, waging war on eachother. Imagine loading up your gamercard, and jumping into a virtual airplane, to be dropped behind "live" enemy lines, attacking real and AI-based enemies, trying to achieve a tactical advantage, only to find your fighting against thousands of AI and human-controlled people. It could be very, very interesting if you were able to "load" up a huge level, and play with a few hundred humans and a few thousand AI in a given area. It could be magnificent. |
In a few years, in a few years... :)
