Gee. I thought about this a year ago. It's because the Wii is now on top with outdated hardware that Sony realize that some time in the future the Big N would release Wii-HD when the HD consoles started to gain momentum. Slowly but surely more people are getting HDTV which you can even hook up to your PC.
As long as Wii on top PS3 nor X360 doesn't need to build a new system only include some kind motion detection device. The wand is an excellent idea as a mouse substitution instead trying to aim a wiimote at the IR bar.
So for now Wii is still on top and way ahead when it comes to motion control. Yet I see the wand as the perfect console mouse and even better since it could included muliplayer . In fact I would buy the wand right now for the PC if it was nothing but a mouse substitute. It would be easy to use than a mouse on the couch with the PC hooked up to my HDTV.
