I know what this guy is referring to, but... a lot of Arcade games only use a single core on the X360... does that qualify, in MS' 1st party book, as 100% usage?

...I think not. His statement only applies to non-parallel systems, wheres there's no actual idling (outside of cache misses, bad conditionals, etc... typical thread stalls) of cores.

This is MS PR trying to convince the uneducated that their competitors statements about core utilization somehow don't apply, because "all the world is a single core" or something. Its not even true on the 360 (although its much closer to being so, than a certain other competitor), so his statement (about 100% usage) is really meaningless.

 

On the other hand, its totally true that games that even use 100% of the cores can be optimized to use them better.  Therein is the important part of his statement...  Forza 4 will be even better, by the hand of the engineers who created it (as opposed to just via hardware).
