Eh, I guess i'm an American so I prefer sports i'm more accustomed to. Cricket seems so weird. I don't really get why the pitcher has that whole running start, or why the batter is so heavily padded, or why that paddle is used to smack a ball. Most of all i don't know what those three sticks are behind the batter and why they have little sticks on top of them.

Baseball: you hit and run. simplicity

I suppose the simplicity of the game is a strong point for baseball indeed.

BTW:

Running start: Because bowling in cricket is based on a straight arm (not a 'pitch' or a 'pelt'), the running start is needed to get pace on the ball. Also, it is used to outsmart the batsman (you can see if the batsman is charging up the pitch when you are running up and adjust to suit, etc)

Heavily padded: It's a cork ball they play with, which is really hard. In baseball you are not supposed to pitch at a batsman's body, whereas in cricket you can if you wanted to.

Paddle: oh uhh I think I now realized that you were joking?

Three sticks with little sticks on top: Well even if you're joking I'm still glad to answer...once the bowler hits the wicket (the three sticks) and the bails are dislodged (the little sticks), the batsman is out.
