its not a three year contract, in fact I just renew mine by a year to get one for the bargain price. Getting one unlocked is very expensive but thats because it only contracted out to att. once that contract runs out the price will drop. I don't find the Iphone anymore expensive than any other phones I had. really its a better deal IMHO.
