I'm guessing that Chronos wants not only revenge against Zeus, but power for himself. I mean, even if Kratos and the Titans didn't fight while they were fighting the gods, afterwards it would have been inevitable that they would fight anyway. The Titans aren't just going to sit around doing nothing after they kill the gods.
