Take this one with a grain of salt folks, as it is WAAAY out there. However it does come from a reliable source. After reporting on a few insider tips about Sony's Gamescom plans which came out to be true (Well, all but one.), we decided to try to find out what was going on for TGS. We were told not to expect too much, just a focus on the games we've already heard about. Turns out, it was pretty much just that. A showcase of games we've heard about already, as well as a new title or two. But no earth shattering news coming from anyone this TGS.

However, we did hear about some things in the future. After asking about if Agent would be shown at TGS, we were told that it would not but that "Sony and R* have something big" planned. When asked what it was, they said "something exclusive". I then thought they were unaware of Agent's exclusivity, so I reminded them and they replied "This isn't about Agent. It's a franchise that is already out.". I told them GTA would be too much of a stretch considering how good the game did on the Xbox 360, to which they replied "Money isn't always everything". Not proof that they were talking about GTA, but very suggestive.

"I don't think it will be announced this year. But what can I say is PlayStation might be the only platform to get ALL games from some big franchise from now on."

Could it be timed exclusivity? The wording they used seems to go against that. But for a company to lose out on a 30 million system install base by not releasing the game on a rival console, that's pretty risky. The only thing I can think of, is that something like disc space limitations could be preventing them from releasing the game on DVD. A game like Grand Theft Auto cannot have disc swaps unless it prevents you from being able to freely travel from island to island. Otherwise you'd have to get up and swap discs just to ride to your girlfriend's place on the other island. Many accused Rockstar of making GTA4's game world smaller than San Andreas because of Xbox 360's DVD format limitations.

It could also just be that PS3 will be the one to get the exclusive content next time. Time will tell.

It is also worth mentioning, that when we asked our source about the cross game chat features rumored in firmware update 3.1, they responded with "I can confirm that cross title chat will be in firmware series 3.". That doesn't confirm 3.1, but it does still support the rumors that it is coming soon. Perhaps all the angry posts in EA's forum from the leak about them holding up cross game chat for PS3 actually had an effect... They did actually mention EA being pissed over that leak, then said "and why do you think you haven't heard anything about EA being upset?"
