Fusion power is the only solution that is economically viable, cheap [after development], reliable and clean. That combined with hydrogen fuel cells for vehicles is going to solve most of our energy problems.
Until we get there, we need a combination of approaches in the places that suit them. Nuclear (fission) isn't a bad option as long as it's temporary therefore giving a finite quantity of waste and risk. Solar is useful in some countries, wind in others, geothermal in others etc. but there is no one right choice between them.
