It might be a smaller gap of loss or breakin even but I don't think profit is coming from selling PS3. With that said I don't think Sony thought it was going to be able to have such a price drop in manufacturing so soon. Between the Bluray diode and the IBM processors . I think a price drop is going to happen pretty soon but who knows? |
Due to Sony releasing data from 3 months before launch that the ps3 costs 800 $ to manafacture. And the fact that they got rid of the emotion engine(which probably lowered the price 50 more $), are now manafacturing the cell at a cheaper price(lowered the cost even further probably around 30-40 $'s), and now bluray diodes are easier to mass produce, most likely making it cheaper (which lowers the cost probably around 300 $ to manafacture blu-ray to around 150-200 $), I doubt that they aren't making money off the ps3, and that a price drop is going to happen around christmas time.
