If you only have 1080p checked, then any game that doesn't support 1080p will downscale to 480p so it'd be better to leave all the resolutions checked so it can automatically switch resolutions when it needs to. If your TV supports 720p and 1080p, then you wouldn't need to bother with 1080i and could leave it unchecked.
