I know a few people who bought another xbox 360 instead of waiting for the repair process and I know someone who bought another Xbox 360 cas his RROD 4 times and a new chip or something like that was released that was supposed to have fixed this issue, but it didn't because his still RROD again.

I also had 4 different PS2. 1 that was bought for me and my brother but we couldn't share without fighting so I bought a new 1 for myself, the Slim version when it launched and another slim when someone robbed my house and stole my first one.

So yeah the sales are still accurate because they are sales made. The 360 may not have the same install base though but that doesn't matter because we will never know how much really

What did your two friends do with their old 360s?

I'm not sure mate. I think they just left them in a corner somewhere.

That's nice to know. Sorry if I don't feel sympathy for two people unaware that a broken 360 is worth actual money and/or can be fixed. Seems like common sense to me. Maybe the problem with the 360 fanbase and this number discrepancy is just that they need to attract more intelligent customers.
