First of all, I agree with pachter, the retailers simply need to accept the times, and adapt to the environment. If we are moving to downloading software for portables or consoles then the retailers will simply have to get with the program somehow.
That being said, Sony could easily appease the retailers by offering them another buck or five dollars in margin per unit sold, if they do that then BB would be promoting the heck out of the PSPgo all day long.
And, sony should have no problem giving the retailers a slightly larger "cut":
