Well when I have an HDTV and most of my friends do to, taking HD video in my pocket to all their houses sure looks and sounds a lot better than taking standard def video and playing it on an HDTV. Plus free HD Radio tuner built in is a nice touch :)

The 'HD' in the Zune is a bit misleading.  iPod Touch actually has a better resolution.  My vote is for the iPod Touch.

The one actual HD thing that the Zune HD does is output video in 720p to an external screen. The iPod caps out at 480p. If you're really buying your pocket media player to plug into a friend's TV, and pixels matter to you, buying a Zune does make some sense.

Personally, I'm going to keep buying SD media as long as it's cheaper and takes up less space.

Oh ok.  I didn't know about that.  At any rate, an HD movie is anywhere for 3-5 GB a piece.  So if you buy a 16GB Zune HD, enjoy your 3-5 movies and nothing else on your Zune.  Or 6-10 movies on your 32GB and nothing else.
