I'd have to agree with what most seem to be saying here. The PSP has great games, the question is, are they games people want to play on handhelds. Sony fanboys and game journalists ridiculed the power of the DS in comparison to the PSP but one thing it did was forced game makers to make games specifically for the DS which meant specifically for a handheld. As I expected the PSP's power has turned out to be a problem since most of the games are simple PS2 ports. Good games I'm sure, just not what the handheld market wants as shown by their sales.
Another problem as mentioned by some is that the PSP, like the GC, has developed a reputation as the loser system. Justified or not this limits things like word of mouth which most mainstream game buyers still rely on. Admittedly some also take to the PSP has no games mantra with such gusto because Sony fanboys have spent a decade making fun of Nintendo "loser" systems and their limited game selection and now the shoe is on the other foot. It's even sweeter because of the predictions and claims that Sony fanboys lapped up that the PSP was going to destroy the DS and extend Sony domination into handhelds.
To whoever said it, I'd say the DS beats the PSP in price (the most important category), portability (also important for a portable system), game selection, load times, battery life, ruggedness, innovation, well essentially all of the important aspects of a handheld. The PSP is better in graphics, sound, multimedia, or things that aren't especially important for a handheld (or a console for that matter).
