| theprof00 said: Also, to everyone who owns a library of psp games and is ACTUALLY thinking about upgrading. The PSPGO! is a seperate system. You can continue to play your psp games on your normal psp. There WILL be a psp4000, so you don't have to get excited about something as trivial as this. This is just a really good deal for either a) a new customer b) someone who is excited to carry a completely digital handheld. c) I can only imagine how piratable this console is going to be, so if you really have a problem with it, just do that. Sony will be making plenty of margin on the pspgo, since they are overcharging by at least 50$ |
Nah, its the retailers getting the margin. The big retailers (i.e. ones that don't sell used games, and are interested in just profiting from the device they're stocking, in some manner) probably demanded the high pricetag, for their own reasons.
You can see evidence of this in the news, practically every day -- any store that sells used titles is threatening to not carry the Go, and the major retailers? They are fine with it -- because their business models just aren't as affected (plus the profit margin makes it attractive for them, like any small, expensive electronic device they sell).
The rest of prof's post I completely agree with... this is a sweet deal for a new PSP Go owner. Sony should be commended for it, not mistakenly blamed for not including the products of other companies in their giveaway.
