sufficed to say, you can post whatever you like, its highly unlikely youre gonna change my views on: the war or the moarchy

taxation in all fairness is not something im an expert on, however ive read newspaper articles and seen tv shows that suggest it is possible to improve the system and to invest more (or at least invest much better) in both healthcare and education (two things i consider very important)

So you're openly admitting a pre-existing ignorance on the issues of war and monarchy?

Do you realise that in the three responses you gave to my last response one was duty-dodging and another was debate-dismissal?

BRITAIN WENT TO WAR IN AFGAHNISTAN!!!  You can not like this.  You can hate this, but this happened.  It has nothing, NOTHING to do with America.  It has nothing, NOTHING to do with the hardships facing other nations and peoples.  But this is something that a country, led by a left-wing Prime Minister did, and now is morally obliged to fix, or alternatively surrender any claim to moral decency it cares to make in the next couple of decades.

As for the Monarchy.  Even without taking into account all the trade, political, humanitarian and charitable benefits the Royal Family brings to the IK each year, the UK tax office EARNS more from them than they spend EVERY year.  By a factor of around 4-5, income from the various use of Royal estates outweights what the UK spends on the Royal Family's allowance.  Now you might say "hey that's our land anyway."  But legally it is not and has never been.  And if you attempted to make it so, you would open up a legal minefield making it necessary to examine thousands (perhaps millions) of hereditary estate claims across the country.

So on the Monarchy at least, consider your cost arguments debunked.

As for taxation, be specific.  What sort of progressive tax increase are you talking about?  Honestly in order to see a noticeable difference I think you're going to cost the economy billions that will make your entire spending agenda irrelevant.  But if you give me some numbers to play with and model maybe I can find you some research highlighting just what it will cost to put in place your ideals.
