Somebody explain to me whether or not the wand has pointer functionality.

If it doesn't, then I don't think I like this idea.

What do you mean exactly?

In their demo's, they usually show the controller being represented on screen. They also showed crosshairs when they demo'd shooting mechanics (a regular gun in their 'toy' room and the tank in the RTS demo).

So it can approximate pointer functionality? Good. It should control fine.

Though holding the dualshock with one hand is still going to be weird.

Yea, as I was saying a few posts up, the only way I've been able to hold and use a PS3 controller with just one hand was to press the right end against my side or my leg.

Considering that you only need left analog and L1/L2, I think the DualShock 3 can easily be used with one hand. And I think the only reason behind this DualShock 3 and EyeControl combo is to lower the entry cost for people who are interested in motion control based gaming.

I assume that Sony, or some third-party company would release a redesigned left half of the standard controller and sell it separately for those who are interested and willing to pay extra money for motion control gaming.
