That's a shame really. Microsoft could really use a nice chunk of good exclusive franchises and buying EA would have given them many awesome ones. Like Dante's Inferno, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Road Rash, Madden and so on. Sure it would hurt Sony and Nintendo but what buyout doesn't? Sony and Nintendo both have a huge number of great exclusive franchises. Microsoft would just be evening out the playing field a bit more.

That is NOT a shame.

This is excellent for EA, if MS bought them, their profit would be cut in half... Hello, all the EA multiplats out there?

That would be MS's baby to deal with from that point.

Exactly! EA wouldn't have to worry anymore they would be a part of Microsoft. All those multiplatforms would no longer need to sell as much if they were exclusive either. Plus if EA games bacame Microsoft's babies than those that are big fans of EA games would likely end up buying a X360 and thus more sales. As for sport titles as long as Madden and other titles were not exclusively licensed anymore than that would allow 2K Sports to make multiplatform sports titles and Sony for the PS3. This would not mark the death of the Wii nor PS3 nor would this end up beign a monopoly. There are plenty of other major franchises not owned by EA and sport contracts and would likely no longer be exclusive. As for movie based games those would probably stay multi until the contracts were up.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.
