communism is the extreme form of socialism, its like China or Soviet Russia, everything is state owned, run and financed in a communist nation, the financial sector would be very heavily regulated and taxes would be extreme on pretty much anyone to pay for this, even at a push, you can only call Labour socialist, even then its only really fair to so when comparing them to other nations in terms of economic policy, in terms of financial regulation, Labour are light touch at best and essentialy Capitalist, the only socialist things Labour can be definitley seen as in favour of are: Public Healthcare & Education and Intervention to a degree after the collapse of Northern Rock, etc, even then, a Communist nation would have gone much further, well before the reccession hit even, to call Labour or any of the 3 main parties at least Communist is stupid and highly ignorant, no one should do so, to suggest that Labour and The Liberal Democrats support elements of Socialist policy is fair, but to be honest, you would be hard pressed to find many who oppose State Healthcare or Education here, even the Conservatives are unlikely to privatise either fully, the outcry from the public would be huge.
