At the expense of multiple price cuts and massive marketing campaigns, etc.  Both of which are causing their company to hemridge funds. Sony's image and profits are both in the red.  They're going to have quite the uphill battle to bring themselves back.  One that might hurt their future.

The Ps3 is similar to the Gamecube if you don't consider a huge amount of factors and just point to it being in third place.
