Basically the store gives you a credit for the purchase price that you paid. (So go get yourself an elite). The bad is they are going to take your hard drive so you may want to wipe your HDD by formatting it at a friends house first. The store later sends in their malfunctioned xbox (your old system to get repaired) and then re-sells them to wholesalers selling them on ebay and other various websites as refurbished and or broken as-is consoles if they are beyond repair or not worth repairing.

Well, that's cool.  I definitely will be calling the store to make sure because that would be a better deal for my

brother-in-law.
