Bill Gates is a single liberal atheist, and has given more to charity than anybody else in the world. And he didn't do it in the name of atheism or in the name of any idea or religion or group or anything. He didn't even do it out of a love of God or a fear of Hell. He did it because he wants to help real people here now today. The alleged religious monopoly on charity is a joke.

I just thought I'd throw that out there.

I haven't watched the video in the OP, and don't think I want to. I kinda wanna puke just reading about it.

Bill Gates is actually an Agnostic.  He's a lot like our early presidents.

He's an Agnostic that still goes to church every once in a while.

Warren Buffet I think is an atheist though.

Ah.  I didn't know he was agnostic.  He can sound pretty damn atheist in interviews every once in a while.  Maybe he goes back and forth and just can't tell, like a true agnostic.  Well I think my point still works, since most of Bill Gate's charity's money comes from Warren Buffet's atheist donations, and since agnostics don't do good deeds out of fear of hell either.

I'd hope Christians don't donate to charity out of fear of hell either.  So much as christianity kidna brings you up in a "Hey these people did a lot of charity" mindset.

Even if you grow up in a shitty enviroment with selfish parents...  you've at least got this third party thing, religion talking about helping the poor and stuff.

Oh I don't mean to imply that all Christians do all good deeds out of fear.  But they can.  And if they're not good, they will be punished forever.

Atheists/agnostics don't even have that as a possibility.  And if they're not good, they don't get good birthday presents.

And there's always the Jungian idea that religious or not, all good deeds are done out of sexual desire.
