Wait till you play it. There are very few games this good. seriously. It's anything but bland.
There are so many firefights you will get into, that really are some of the best set pieces Ive ever been in in a FPS. It's awesome. The bridge bits cool. Theres a part to where your pinned down, and theres a wraith and about 50 enemies swarming towards you. Different paths to you as well, like a funnel arena. Man on Legendary I died like 20 times even though I have finished the other Halos all on Legendary. Awesome game.
