I change them periodically, I would say maybe every month?

I had Kirby set when I first joined.

Then it was Chie.

Then Naoto.

Then another Chie.

Then Trucy.

Then I changed the Trucy avatar to Ema.

Then I changed to Toon Link.

I like to mess around with photoshop and that's probably why I change them so frequently.
