I had my Wii overheat from Wii Connect 24/7. I get the "flashing black/white pixels" of doom or whatever randomly. Nintendo wants $100 + shipping (or so I was last quoted a year ago) to fix it. At this point I rather get a new Wii when they hit $150 and re-play Mario Kart (aka the only big save file I'll really lose).
It's just that simple.
