Well I've heard loads of stupid things in my life but a lot of them might just be perception haha. But I'm assuming that is the case for most.
As for recently, at the tea parties those who accused Obama of being a socialist and a Nazi. Now anyone that understand anything about the political spectrum they'll understand how this is quite well stupid. Nazis are authoritarian right and socialists are on the far left... not all the way up the authoritarian scale but still. The point is they are polar opposites. One can't both be a fascist and a socialist at the same time in the same respect. It's a logical contradiction. So yes it is stupid haha.
Second one is anyone who dares tell me that I have to give up liberties for protection. heard this a lot after 9/11. Come on you aren't safe and you are scared so you need to give up a few liberties such as privacy to be protected. Probably the stupidest thing I'll ever here. Might as well just make the government a dictatorship with a fascist leader if that's what they are asking. As the Benjamin Franklin saying goes (somewhat haha) "Those who give up liberties for protection deserve neither."
Also more recently, democrats stating they can fund health care reform with simply cutting the costs of other programs and waste. Yea the day government cuts wastes and costs is the day pigs fly haha. Not gonna happen. Stupid claim.
Lots of other stupid things I've heard as well but that's a good start.
