Considering the way memory prices are crashing, I hope next-gen returns to solid memory, AKA cartridges.

I can't wait until we get rid from optical drives and the massive amounts of reliability issues they introduce. Cartridge systems like the NES or the GENESIS are still working 15 years later. If you want to watch movies, get a dedicated player!

You and me both, brother.

I also want solid memory games back, but those need to have equal or more space than a Blu-Ray disc for less the price. Otherwise Ninty, Sony and MS won't do the jump back.

And the movies part, it's cool to have Digital Distribution, but disc-based movies still are a good advantage in the consoles, i say, a solid memory slot for games and disc slot for multipurpose (plus, USB slots also for multipurpose), and if the disc mechanical parts damage you still get to play the games.
