Cheaper to develop for: Yes
But as for selling more? This can be disputed... there is no big global franchise from third party that has a flagship title on the wii. Even DQ X is only massively popular in Japan where the install base obviously favour the Wii. I don't think SE will gamble their flagship for a first dip into the blue ocean.
It makes much for sense for KH3 to come out on the Wii and that's something I think Nintendo will push for...
Reasoning:
* With the exception of IX, FF from VII onward tend to be attention seeking graphic whores, the Wii despite being a great machine would mean going against this trend and risk alienating existing fan.
* As previously mentioned, FF is SE's flagship title, on top of an existing fanbase which is 100% certain to buy it on the PS360 thanks to the release of XIII, I don't think SE will risk FF to test the water on the performance of big name franchise flagship title on the Wii.
* Thanks to the 'cartoony' nature of KH graphic (rather than the ultra realism look popular in FF) the graphic is less taxing and more easily achievable on the less performance oriented Wii.
* More family oriented game for a more family oriented system. Disney has globally recognisable icons that are considered 'safe' and more likely to appeal to the wider market demography which owns the Wii.
* Will still sell massively in Japan thanks to a good install base and DQX paving the way, but globally has a far better chance to sell superior number thanks to its universal appeal when compare to a PS360 iteration.
