1) ps3 set up is identical in difficulty to a 360.
2) geek squad will charge the same to set up a 360 or a wii.
3) yes, people do buy this shit. my girlfriend's dad is one of those peoople. he recently bought a sound bar for which the only set-up was to plug in the speaker, plug in the optical audio cord, and set the TV to send sound to an external device. American wanted to charged $200 for the service of setting it up. He did finally agree to let me set it up for him (free) but he was really worried I wouldn't be able to figure it out.
