When the universe was the size of a dot, there was nothing outside that little dot?

Well assuming there are other universes I would suppose that they each have their own self contained space as well.

But yes, to the best of our knowledge there was nothing outside of that little dot. And by nothing I mean no dimensions.

This is very, very confusing.
