Just went to best buy while on my lunch...

Wolverine Xmen origins just came out...its 23.99 on DVD and 39.99 on bluray.
Mind you, DVD has a 2 disc special edition which is 31.99, but if you just want to see the movie, and don't have a 40 inch+ HDTV...why would anyone choose bluray over DVD?

Wow,  if prices are that bad out by you than I can understand no one would want Blu-ray but by me the same Blu-ray is 27.99.

Also  Blu-ray does still look better than DVD even on SDTVs,  its just not as big a difference as it is on an HDTV.

I depends on the movie.  Blu-ray movies are typically created from a very high-quality master.  Current DVDs are created from the same masters, but many older DVDs (say 5 years or older) were created from lower-quality masters.  Considering that DVDs support resolution greater than a standard-resolution tv can display, DVDs created from high-quality masters should look as good as the same movie on Blu-ray.  Older DVDs, however, might look worse.

Overall, though, DVDs will look about the same as Blu-rays when viewed on a standard definition tv.
