People seem to be fixated on the duration of the campaign and ignore the (reported) immersiveness and overall quality of the experience.
I'd rather watch (and re-watch) a great movie that clocks in at 75 minutes than sit through a 180 minute director's cut of the steaming pile of "Independence Day".
A long movie (experience) isn't necessarily a great one.
And, sorry, great graphics don't inherently make a game any better. Particularly in light of how many people post about their love of their PSOne and PS2 games...
"...still one of the greatest games ever" statements abound. I don't see anyone seriously suggesting that aging graphics makes those games any less fun and should drop their review score.
If it's a price issue, then just wait until the price cuts come. The game itself isn't any better or worse for being its price - a $49.99 game isn't better than a $59.99 game merely for being $10 cheaper. If price is the reason that a game is ding'd in review score, then the review score would have to be rounded up once the price dropped. I have yet to see that happen...
