Did you ever think that the whole business with Georgia could have been avoided if Russia were a larger part of the international community? I mean if countries don't like you what have you got to lose? But if you are part of the international community and you are close to your peers then an attack would be devastating. Russia are like a bully in a school, people don't like them (their parents, other children) and so they act in hostile to the other pupils to try and justify themselves to the school and why not, they have nothing to lose. But the second you try and be a bit more supportive of them, offer to include them and give them positive attention they have been craving and they will start acting friendlier, after all if you hurt a friend you risk losing your entire social group and peers. Try and turn the 'enemy' into a friend is what I'm saying, they wont be such dickheads. I don't want another cold war! I want peace with Russia! |
The US is a major part of the international community. We still invaded Iraq.
Peace with Russia = giving them control over their old USSR sphere of influence.
I'm not sure if you noticed... but we actually tried bringing them into the international community before... and it was working fine... back when they were a democracy.
However the governments they are fucking with actually have freer elections then Russia itself now.
Georgia ishappening because Georgia's president is anti-russian and they're usual "pro-russian" cronies didn't get voted in. I say happening because stuff is actually still going on. Russia is getting the ossetians to start breaking the treaty and attacking again.
You name a country in the area and they've got their hands in their elections.
I mean... why isn't the Ukraine in the EU?
Turkey has a clear path but the Ukraine doesn't? Even though the Ukraine fits much better? Because the EU is afraid it will provoke Russia.
Poland and Chexs really should be fine....
But Ukraine, Georgia, Molodva, Armenia... countries like that are currently screwed... and by currently i mean Russia is actually activly effecting the way those countries run... in a way that western countries bascially couldn't get away with.
