i am thinking about buying singstar queen soon, singstar mj would be a day 1 buy for sure.

I got SS Queen on my PS2, just before giving it away. I can't sing to save myself but my wife is a very good singer and so is my sister. SS Queen is effing hard since Freddy Mercury is a vocal god. MJ dopesn't have the vocal prowess of Freddy so I reckon his songs are more accessible for your average karaoke wannabe.

To those Wii/360 folks who really dig MJ you do have the $99 option if you don't have a PS2. If you won't buy a PS2 just to sing with Michael, then are you really a true fan?

I just wonder if it's a bit too soon. I mean now that his death is a homocide and all it seems just a tad soon to get it out there.

Going from sensitive to purely mercenary in the space of a single sentence: it's a great business move. And it is a huge motivator for people to get PS3, but not so much if it gets sold on PS2 as well. The PS3 version would need to use all the potential that Blu-ray brings to give the PS3 game the edge and thus bring over the PS2 hold outs.

The power of Michael is so huge that this could be the biggest selling PS3 game for the entire generation. OTOH if Sony handle it wrong the level of fan devotion to MJ could see some major fan backlash.

My wife loves MJ, I'll be leaving the house whenever she puts the game on to sing. Michael Jackson has made a huge contribution to pop music and pop culture, I just don't like his material.

I think Sony should publicly poll fans about when it would be appropriate to release SS:MJ, and what additional content they'd like to see besides having songs to sing along to and the other usual SS features.
