To disolitude:

I played the Sigma 2 demo and own the 360 NG2 (beat it on MN) and after directly comparing I can see that Sigma 2 is pushing HALF of what the original version is.

The number of enemies per encounter is reduced from 7 to 10+ at once in the 360 version, down to 3 or 4 at a time in the PS3 version.  Along with that, the body parts disappear now as soon as you cut them off.   Speaking of blood, there's a lot less blood overall, and what little bit is there only stains the floor now.  In the 360 version, blood stained walls and floors and there was a lot more of it.  After every battle in NG2 there is a pile of carnage left over that told you that a badass had been there and wrecked some shop.  That whole effect is missing from Sigma 2 and it really is disappointing to me.  But at least Sigma 2 does run at a slightly higher resolution than NG2 does. It unfortunately runs slower than NG2 overall, even with less going on.  Even with these sacrifices, I still had framerate issues and random slowdowns in Sigma 2, just like the original.

Both games are great, but I won't be buying Sigma 2 again at full price.  The extras aren't gonna make up for that harder edge that they sacrificed or reduction in speed. But PS3-only people should definitely check it out. Either version of NG2 is a great action game regardless of whichever console you own.
