Makes me wonder how many young "small government" enthusiasts took grant money to go to college without batting an eye.

I went to UNM in Albuquerque. Cost $75 a credit hour, and I worked my way through school waiting tables.

Congrats, Not that you need to prove your belief in your ideology to me. But out of curiousity did you get any grants before hand? I mean if you ace highschool, you usually get grants, if you're parents are poor you get grants, hell sometimes you get small grants just for going to college. Were you offered any? Are you still paying for college? Or did you just make a ridiculous amount of money waiting tables and were able to pay for school and living expenses off of tips? How long ago did you go to college? This isn't accusatory, just curiousity. Because even if you stuck up for your beliefs that's still just anecdotal, and while we can all give you a round of applause for being successful that doesn't say jack about todays young libertarian/republican college bound youths.

did you get any grants before hand?
No, The only assistance I got (and it's not really assistance), was I lived at the school in family student housing. It's an apartment complex for families that charge a low rent. I had a two bedroom apartment for $350 a month. I say it's not assistance, because it didn't cost more then that to house me. The place was run by the school, and that's just what it came out to be per family.

If the 4 years I went to school, I lived in this housing 1 year of it. The rest of the time I was in an apartment.

Were you offered any?
No, I was older when I went to school, so what my parents made was irrelevant. I didn't think to try for grant money. I figured I could afford it, so I just paid for it.

Are you still paying for college? Or did you just make a ridiculous amount of money waiting tables and were able to pay for school and living expenses off of tips?
At $75 a credit hour, that's only $2,250 a year, or  $187 a night. On a god day, I made $150 in tips working at Olive Garden. I paid for school as I went. I always bought used books and sold them back, so they didn't cost that much.

How long ago did you go to college?
1992-1995, so I know it cost a lot more today. Well, UNM is free if you graduate from a New Mexico High School now. If you have to pay for it, I am sure it cost a lot more.

Damn, I wish I was gogin to college in the 90s. That's cheap. Tuition his skiyroketed. (Sorry maffood. I've been drinking, I normally respnond to you more respectuflly than this, but fuck it.
