I like the fact that it's unix based; that aspect of the environment is semi-familiar to me. In my opinion though the mac hardware is very overpriced. It may look nice on the outside, but I'm not going to pay that much for it. Windows has its uses (games...), but most of the time I'm a / (signature..) |
The reason that they cost so much is 2 fold. 1 - there is no competition, Apple makes Macs period, you can get a PC from a million different places. 2 - and this is the one that I like the most. Every Mac is proprietary. You will never get junk, they are all built with the best hardware, and they all have the same hardware in them. Apple simply will not put crap in their computers. When buying a PC, you never know what kind of crap is in there, unless you build it yourself. I guess I could throw in a number 3 - the genius bar. No matter how long you have had your Mac, you can take it to any Apple store and they will take a thorough look at it and tell you what needs to be done to fix it if there is a problem for free. When you buy a Mac, you are paying for the best hardware so of course it will cost you. You get what you pay for.
