Blu-ray Players are overtaking DVD players....basically BD is taking over

that's the problem, DVD is not going to go away..because all blu-ray player's still play DVD's. the very fact that Blu-Ray player's can still play Standard DVD's will make Blu-Ray viable no matter what.

Blu-Ray will along with DVD will still be on the market. 

DVD was for standard def.

Blu-Ray was for HD def.

because of DVD support Blu-Ray will not fail.
