"Viral messengers, posing as ‘gamers’, are polluting message forums and comments from various websites in the shape to ‘change public opinion’. Anyone who deserves a place in Dante’s Inferno would be computer virus makers and viral marketers posing as regular people. I want viral messengers *gone*."

Where does he get this from? I think he's overexaggerating this a lot. I've never met a viral marketer disguised as a gamer.

You realize, of course, he's talking about select fanboys? Viral marketers usually aren't paid employees.

I've never properly debated Malstrom.

Maybe one of these days I'll feel like it.

This is not exactly true zen.

viral marketing is simply marketing by word of mouth, through networks, by people. I virally spread the ps3 price drop to 60 people on my cell phone the day I heard about it. It's using the persuasive strength of interpersonal relationships to change opinions.

People on websites and irl do this a lot, and are paid to do it.

Actually the hula hoop girl fro wii fit was thought to be a viral marketing scheme. Both her and her boyfriend work in the marketing business, and the boyfriend said that he wanted to work for nintendo.
