Maybe they could do what we do in NZ which is make student loans interest free while studying and then charge low interest until you can truly afford to pay it back. It makes cost less of an issue for people trying to get into university. |
I've never had to resort to a *shudder* loan, but I believe there already are a large quanity of student loans which do not accrue interest on the principal until after the student has left the university.
