It won't be a stand-alone success but it will offer the opportunity to get out all the 3rd Party Software from Wii on PS3. Since sales are better on HD consoles publisher might consider this (better sales compared to the present userbase in percent). Wii will be fine since it is a well reknown brand and because of the Ninty titles - they are able to brillate without HD graphics. But albeit from this point I don't think that Wii will get too much attention especially from 1st time buyers if they have the choice between both systems with all pros and cons.
Although I have to admit if I would look out for a present just for my children I would pic Wii over PS3 because of the Ninty titles. But if the console is meant to be a "family" thing I would estimate PS3 will get long legs during the next couple of month. You guys know on your own that there is a massive potential for a casual market on PS3 with Singstar! as the most reknown copy of Americas Next Super Star or wse
