You don't know anything. Consoles were the first ones to reach the public, and PCs only did the same 10 years after the consoles. In the 70's and early 80's, the PC gaming scene was pretty much composed of hobbyists making small PC games as a hobby. And it was only in the 90's that PC reached mainstream, something consoles had done in the 80's.

PC gaming was never bigger than Console gaming, but now it is starting to challenge them. PC gaming will keep gaining space the more this gen continues.

Oh for God's sake

The fact that gamers back then were all hobbyists who had to manually enter code for their own games (until the early 80's) doesn't mean that they did not compose the gaming scene! yes, it was smaller then, but PC gaming was all that there was in terms of video games for many, many years!

That is a silly statement. Back then, PC gaming didn't have a chance because the games were almost never sold, weren't advertised and were not available to the general public. Consoles, though, already had Atari 2600 in the 70's, which was going to the public, and sold 30 millions. The PC gaming scene was pretty much a bunch of college kids fiddling with the codes.

The fact is, console gaming had a decade of headstart, but now PC gaming is catching up.
